Trabajo engages EY to audit the management of European funds

The company will charge 81,800 euros for the contract on monitoring the spending of social funds

The Ministry of Labor and Social Economy awarded Ernst & Young (EY) an 81,800 euro consulting and audit contract on management of European fundsas well as conducting a pilot audit program.

As stated in the accompanying contract report, to which Europa Press had access, this audit system will have the purpose of verifying, on the one hand, the accuracy and truthfulness of the information contained in management reports on the fulfillment of key goals and objectives, as well as information on the total paid accumulated green consumption.

We also want to check whether the funds were used for their intended purpose and whether they acted in accordance with legal regulations, especially the rules on preventing conflicts of interest, fraud, corruption and double financing from the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism and other European Union programs.

At the same time, part of this contract is to check whether the ministry and the dependent implementing entities have management control systems that guarantee the proper use of resources. European fundsas well as the implementation of a pilot system audit program in which the execution of certain specific actions contained in the Recovery Plan is examined.

“The need to be covered is the establishment of a control mechanism that will enable the ministry to thoroughly check whether the execution of the funds is carried out in accordance with European regulations, especially with the provisions of the Agreement on Financing the Recovery Plan,” the contractual report states.

The maximum period of execution of the contract awarded under the accelerated procedure will be fifteen weeks.
