The seventy-seven-year-old actor fell ill on the evening of Friday, May 26. The doctors of the emergency service, who arrived at the call, decided to urgently hospitalize Martynov.
“Andrey Leonidovich was admitted to the hospital on an emergency basis. The actor drank 40 tablets of phenazepam. Now the doctors are giving him all the necessary help,” Telegram Channel 112 reported.
Andrey Martynov was born on October 24, 1945 in Ivanovo in the family of a teacher. He had two older brothers – Rudolph and Yuri. Their father, Leonid Nikolaevich Martynov, was visually impaired from the first group and was involved in a drama club with the society of the blind. This prompted his youngest son to become an artist.

After graduating from GITIS, Martynov began working as an actor at the Moscow Youth Theater. Then he served in the Moscow Drama Theater on Malaya Bronnaya.
Since 1972, the artist began to act in films. The very first role, foreman Fedot Vaskov in Stanislav Rostockky’s film “… and the dawns here are quiet”, brought him popular love. Many remember his hero Kiryan Inyutin in the series “Eternal Call” well. Andrey Leonidovich also starred in the films “White Bim Black Ear”, “The Captain’s Daughter”, “The Battle of Moscow”, “Tsar Ivan the Terrible”, “On the Corner, at the Patriarchs-3” and others.
Since 1982, the artist has been engaged in voice acting for films. The heroes of the films Schindler’s List, Open, Police! 2″, “Ocean’s Twelve”, “Wild Rose” series.
Andrey Leonidovich was married to a German citizen, Franziska Thun, whom he met at the Berlin Film Festival in 1972, where he introduced the film “… The Dawns Here Are Quiet”. The daughter of a German diplomat, who studied at Moscow State University, was assigned to the Soviet group as an interpreter.
After the wedding, the girl moved to Moscow. A young family got two apartments on the same plot. However, due to the persecution of his colleagues in the Youth Theatre, Martynov left the theater and then moved abroad with his wife.
A son, Alexander, was born to the couple in Berlin. Now he works as a theater actor and with his wife Monika is raising Martyn’s three grandchildren – Max, Nicholas and Helena. They all carry their grandfather’s surname, but they don’t speak Russian. After divorcing Francisco in 2017, the actor is single. His ex-wife married a German professor.
