Exhibition “Cultural code. Heritage. Fashion” is dedicated to productions listed in the Association “Folk Arts and Crafts of Russia”, artisans, artists and designers who over the years carry the unique and multifaceted cultural code of Russia, and is designed to demonstrate the importance of folk arts and crafts in modern Russian society .

The ceremonial opening of the exhibition began with the performance of the people who greatly contributed to the implementation of the large-scale project “Cultural Code. Heritage. Fashion”. Among them are Yulia Byba, general producer of the project and director of the Svoi Path Center, Elena Titova, director of the All-Russian Museum of Decorative Arts, Irina Argelander, curator and developer of the exhibition, director of the Cultural Heritage company, Maria Kolmakova, publisher of the VOICE media brand , and Tatyana Maksimova, editor-in-chief of VOICE Shopping.

As part of the opening of the exhibition, a fashion show was held, where the works of contemporary designers inspired by the art of handwork were presented, as well as a collection of clothes made according to the sketches of the winners of the All-Russian online competition in sketching clothing for youth using national motifs and patterns. The competition was organized by the Svoi Path Center and the HSE School of Design with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives. The fashion show also featured works by contemporary designers inspired by the art of handwork, including Valentin Yudashkin, Varvara Zenina, Masterpeace, Naumi, Loom by Rodina, Sasha Gapanovich, Monochrome.

After the opening speech and the fashion show, all the guests were invited to see with their own eyes the unique beauty created by the combination of folk arts and crafts and modern fashion. The exhibition presents NHP products – clothing, interior and household items, works of Russian designers, art objects created by contemporary artists and multimedia installations. The guests got acquainted with the works of well-known enterprises: “Torzhok Gold Embroiderers”, “Kazakov Filigree”, “Elets Lace”, “Gzhel Porcelain Factory”, “Factory of Orenburg Downy Shawls”, “Khokhloma Painting”, “Association” Palekh Artists, ” Dymkovo Toy” “, Zhostovo decorative painting factory and many others.

The first issue of VOICE Shopping magazine became part of the exhibition. The issue is dedicated to the Know Ours project, an amazing combination of modern fashion and folk arts and crafts, reflected for the first time in Russian glossy magazines. The exclusive issue of VOICE Shopping includes the Red Book of Russian Crafts, a stylist’s step-by-step guide on how to incorporate handicrafts into a modern look and interior, and dozens of incredible shots, interviews and stories about NHP. Help in cooperation with folk arts and crafts was provided by the director of the ANO “International Center for the Development of the Creative Economy” Irina Ilyukhina.

In the special VOICE zone, guests were surprised by the jazz boy group Excite Quintet, who brought sophisticated notes to this artistic evening. Excite Quintet is a project that plays its own music in the direction of modern jazz. The team is characterized by style, aesthetics, synthesis of author’s material, professionalism of performers and individual musical style of each member, which gives the project a unique, distinctive and fresh sound.

The catering company “Ministerstvo” treated all the guests of the presentation with its gastronomic delights.

And the natural cosmetics brand Lifecode and Beauty Bite, a brand of natural low-carb healthy foods created especially for women, enriched with superfoods for skin beauty and women’s health, delighted with pleasant gifts.
