Durek’s mother Verushka Urquhart, who lives in New York, gave an exclusive interview to the Norwegian press for the first time and bluntly stated that her son is a manipulator and “brainwashes people, washes the princess”. The woman questioned Durk’s shamanic abilities and admitted that he was not at all as loving and gentle a person as he wanted to appear – and he broke her heart.

Durek’s spiritual work as a shaman is viewed with suspicion in Norway. Despite his princess bride not enjoying assuring everyone that her lover’s abilities are beyond doubt, “He really is a shaman,” Martha Louise insists, responding to the scornful remarks. When Martha Louise asked how to become a shaman, she explained that such a spiritual path was “intended by the ancestors” for a person.

Veruska, Durk’s mother, literally laughed at all this. “I really believe that his brain exists separately from his body,” the woman said in a sensational interview with the Norwegian newspaper Se og Hør.

Most disturbingly, the possible future mother-in-law of the Norwegian princess is not the only person who is directly saying that Durek is not who he says he is.

Verrett’s former close friend Hank Greenberg spoke to reporters shortly after the shaman’s engagement to the heir to the throne broke. He argued: Durek is a very toxic person and a born manipulator who bends people he considers close to his will. “They completely brainwashed me,” Greenberg said. “When we talked, it was so bad that my parents told me several times that they didn’t recognize me.” Hank claimed that the sole purpose of his communication with the press was to warn Martha Louise. But she ignored the warning.

He opposed Durk and his former manager and girlfriend, Tiana Griego. “I completely understand how Martha Louise feels right now and why she is protecting Durek. I was like that when I worked and lived with him.” Tiana remembered. “People tried to warn me about it, but I didn’t listen. He’s a master at manipulating others, almost like a magician.”

Princess Martha charmed Louise Durek, that’s for sure. But did the heiress really fall for the charlatan’s bait?
