A well-known figure of Russian cinema died in the zone of a special military operation. The tragedy occurred during the fighting for Artemovsk in the Donetsk region. Leonid is on the front line as a volunteer.

Surrounded by the screenwriter, they reported that he died on March 29, but for a long time he was listed as missing. He recognized him by the tattoo on his body. According to reports, the writer suffered multiple shrapnel injuries during the attack on the city. Director and producer Pavel Drozdov announced the death of Korin, he learned the sad news on May 1.

“We met Lenya Korin in St. Petersburg at the University of Film and Television. At the time, I was working on a screenplay about a high school hockey player who couldn’t find himself in this world, and I needed a co-writer. Leonid was born in 1975 in Yaroslavl. In 2010, he graduated with honors from St. Petersburg State University of Cinema and Television, screenwriting workshop of Yuri Klepikov.

In the same year, Leonid won his first major prize as a screenwriter at the Piterkit festival for the feature film Contrabass. In his piggy bank is the New Horizon-2009 award for the screenplay for the movie Cruise. At the International Human Rights Film Festival “Stalker” he was awarded for the short film “Senior”.
