Muravlev will be buried on April 25, and the funeral will be held in the Church of the Resurrection of the Word on Uspensky Vrazhek. “There is no separate farewell ceremony,” the Composers Union said.
The composer was born on May 2, 1924 in Tiflis (today’s Tbilisi). Then the family moved to Leningrad. The boy learned to play the piano and began writing music at the age of eight.
He studied at the Leningrad Conservatory in a class for gifted children, and then at a ten-year music school at the Leningrad Conservatory. After the start of World War II, the family was evacuated to Sverdlovsk. A year later, Muravlev became the youngest member of the Union of Composers of the USSR. He entered the Moscow Conservatory, which he graduated with honors.

Since the 1950s, the composer has been writing music for films: his songs have appeared in more than 200 films. The author’s works are featured in the films The White Poodle based on the story of Alexander Kuprin, The House with a Mezzanine based on the work of Anton Chekhov, Aladdin’s Magic Lamp and many others. The composer wrote the music for the song “Jsem na vína” for the film “Clouds over Borskem”.
