The movie star’s ex-wife stayed out of the spotlight to respect Johnny’s desire for privacy. However, the scandalous court case between Depp and Amber Heard caused strong emotions for Laurie. The 65-year-old makeup artist rolled her eyes when asked about the actress.
“I’ve met her before, I’ve been to parties at his house and she looked really sweet and gorgeous, why not love? But as time went on, I heard a lot about her – she who shall not be named – and he didn’t seem happy all the time,” Lori explained.
It was hard for her to watch Johnny defend his rights in court. Allison felt sincere sympathy for her ex-husband. She clarified that Jack Sparrow’s screen life is quite secretive.

“What affected me most of all was what he said in court. I must have broken down a few times because I felt really sorry for him. He’s very private – that’s why I don’t do interviews – and I think he really needed to make such an honest disclosure. I thought it was either going to be a huge bust or everything was going to go very well,” Laurie said.
One of Johnny’s closest friends, Isaac Baruch, was present at the trial. He testified on behalf of the artist at the meeting. Allison contacted Isaac to see how Depp was feeling.
“Sometimes I called Isaac and said, ‘What’s going on, is he OK?’ And he said, ‘Don’t worry, we’re going to win this.’ would it kill him, well maybe not, but it breaks my heart that someone could do that to him,” Laurie said.
Amber’s behavior shocked her, the make-up artist considers it completely inappropriate. Lori admitted that she even thought about revenge. However, she would like to answer the perpetrator Johnny only within the limits of what is allowed.
“I’m no angel, I’ve done my fair share of nasty things to people. But what she did was absolutely horrible and if I could do something legal to her I would! I could,” Laurie was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.
Laurie married Johnny in 1983 when he was just 20 and she was 25. The couple divorced after just two years, citing irreconcilable differences.
