‘I’m absolutely devastated’: Andrew Lloyd Webber has admitted his son is battling advanced cancer

One of the most influential musicians in British culture is going through a tough time. Andrew Lloyd has released a heartbreaking update on the condition of 43-year-old Nick Webber. The composer’s eldest son was diagnosed with stomach cancer, the situation was worsened by an infection with pneumonia. The chance of recovery is extremely small, the man was taken to a hospice.

“I want to thank you for the flood of messages in support of my son Nick. He has now been transferred to hospice and is struggling. I think he went through the worst pneumonia he got from cancer. It’s all just terrible,” said Andrew Lloyd.

The most commercially successful composer in history has apologized for missing the premiere of his new Broadway musical. He wished to stay in the UK and look after his son. “Our whole family gathered here, I think it’s the right place for all of us now,” said the musician.

The musician addressed fans in a video on social networks, trying to control his emotions during the performance. “I want to say thank you very much for the support shown to my son. And good luck to my other family in Bad Cinderella in New York for their premiere tonight,” Webber added..
