The theater and film actor experienced a special excitement when he was offered a role in this television project. He worked for 30 years in the theater of the Moscow City Council, where Faina Georgievna served. Alexander remembered the first time he saw Ranevska on stage. At that time he was still studying at the theater institute and got a ticket to the play “Further – silence” with Faina Ranevská and Rostislav Plyatt.
“I was sitting upstairs as a student and yelling. The boy roared. Now, I could talk about this show as a tragedy for seniors, but what could I tentatively understand at 18? But I was so absorbed by the aura of acting, the atmosphere, well, it was fantastic, ”said Domogarov.

The main role in the series was played by the daughter of Lyubova Polishchuk – Marietta Tsigal-Polishchuk. Alexander played Vasily Kachalov. The actor and teacher had a strong influence on Faina’s life and creative destiny.

“It’s hard for us artists to take on that kind of material in general. For example, I play the great actor Vasiliy Kachalov, whom no one knows at all. And this is a real theatrical genius, I was afraid, as an artist, to take on this burden and put my name in parallel with such a personality, “said Alexander.
Domogarov is convinced that Ranevskaya made an invaluable contribution to our culture, and her memory will live on for a long time. In the project, they tried to show the artist as no one has seen her before. “This is the monument, glory and pride of the theater, this is its name. The word “star” doesn’t even fit here, it’s something extra special for the theater,” Alexander quotes StarHit.

The artist also hinted that the life of Soviet stars was very different from the reality of modern artists who publish photos in luxurious interiors on their pages on social networks. So, Vladimir Zeldin lived all his life in an apartment with an area of 26 square meters. We can watch records and movies, but we know very little about the real life of the actors of that time – how they lived, loved, what problems and sufferings they faced.
Domogarov expressed his belief that Ranevskaya and Kachalov are connected not only by friendship and working relations. “There was a kind of love and respect. Childhood love that grew into creative … Friendship of two people from the same workshop. But very close,” added the artist.
