The fact is that many stars have already refused to perform there. Charles III received rejection from almost every major star in the country. Adele, Ed Sheeran, Elton John (he was Charles’ first choice), Harry Styles cited busy tour schedules. Even the Spice Girls, who once readily accepted invitations to events with Charles, turned down the king (and Jerry once even kissed him on the cheek). Even Robbie Williams didn’t want to talk.

“The organizers are working tirelessly to put together a top line-up but have run into a number of problems,” an insider told The Sun.

So what’s the deal? There can be several reasons.

Prince Charles was in a state of defeat from the very beginning. As the heir to the throne, he spent his whole life in the shadow of his mother, the British do not like him because of his scandalous marriage to Diana, and everyone said that he should immediately abdicate in favor of his son Prince William. The beginning of the royal “career” also did not work out – the press immediately began to write about the hot-tempered character of Charles – remember how angry he was when the pen with which he signed the document leaked and how sharply he communicated with his subordinates.

Given this context, many of the artists may simply not wish to be associated with such a “problematic” monarch.

It is not yet known whether the main troublemakers, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, will come to the coronation. However, their possible visit to London could traditionally be accompanied by new scandals, especially after Harry said a lot about himself and his family in the Netflix documentary. Guest artists may fear that they won’t be subject to negative articles of their own accord – just like those attending the coronation. Yes, and of course it will be difficult to compete with the “concerts” of guests from the United States. Since Meghan and Harry’s first child, Archie, was born on May 6, there is a risk that he will try to “steal the show”.

Mass rejection of artists’ performances has already become an opportunity for jokes on the network. Now this can become a chain reaction – newly invited people will reconsider whether to attend the concert if they are at risk of being trolled.

There is no official list of speakers yet. According to sources, Kylie and Dannii Minogue, rock group Take That, American soul singer Lionel Richie and songwriter Andrew Lloyd are expected to perform at the coronation.
