Vasiliy Shukshin’s daughters sued more than 600,000 from the Nadezhda Babkina Theater for an illegal performance 10/2/2023, 5:45 p.m.

The theater presented a performance based on the work of Vasily Shukshin “Kalina Krasnaya”. Another daughter of the famous writer Maria took part in the production. Her two sisters believed that the game had been released illegally.

Due to infringement of exclusive copyright, the sisters went to court. The judge sided with the Shukshins. As a result, it was decided to recover more than 600 thousand rubles from the theater of Nadezhda Babkina: 255 thousand rubles in favor of Yekaterina and 385 thousand in favor of Olga Shukshina.

The plaintiff’s representatives filed claims for compensation for the presentation of eight performances, six of which took place in Russia and two in other countries. The parties did not reach an agreement before the court.

At the same time, the decision to ban the screening of the production “Kalina Krasnaya” in the Theater of the People’s Artist of Russia was not accepted in court. This was reported to the correspondent of REN TV in the press service of the Basmanny court, where the hearings were held.

Nadezhda Babkina monosyllabically commented on the scandal with the writer’s daughters. The singer said her theater is continuing to stage the production and her legal team is dealing with all other issues.
