“I overcame internal resistance”: Valeria Lanskaya spoke about her character in the play “Female Happiness” 06.02.2023, 19:50

The premiere of the play “Female Happiness” took place in the “School of Modern Play” theater. The production was born from the story “Not Fate”, written during the pandemic by the famous club “What? Where? When?” lawyer Mikhail Barshevsky. Playwright Jekatěrina Kretová reformatted the work into a play, while changing many things in it.

“As a person who is interested in movement, process, it was very interesting for me to watch how the performance was born,” said Barshchevsky. – It is made to be close to mature people and the younger generation from 16 years old. It’s like a shot for the audience, an emotional shot. Valeria Lanskaya, from my point of view, plays the main role absolutely brilliantly.

The star of the series “Circus princess” reincarnated as a television presenter in this performance. She is beautiful and smart. “The combination of intellect and breasts is the key to success,” the heroine says about herself. In search of happiness, the 27-year-old girl had an affair with a colleague. He became attached to her, but the journalist understands that he is not the one with whom she wants to spend her whole life. A TV presenter unexpectedly falls in love with a 60-year-old married man. Despite his calls for an abortion, she gives birth to a son.

Lanskaya in this performance is very emotional. It is felt that the story is very close to the thirty-six-year-old actress, who is also raising a son. She divorced the child’s father, director Stas Ivanov, last year.

“My relationship with this game was not easy,” Valeria told VOICE. – At first I didn’t want, there was internal resistance, I understood that it’s not mine – I don’t want, this heroine is not close to me. But I thought about it, re-read the new version of the play after the arrival of the director Maria Fedošová, and my perception of this story changed. This should “reach the audience”, because the story is very human, it is about almost everyone: relationships with parents, with friends, with men… What is happiness for a woman? For some it’s a career, like in the beginning for my heroine, for some it’s a child, for some it’s a man. It is interesting to find out what turned out to be the heroine’s luck in the end. And will this feeling, understanding, feeling match the feelings of the audience? I find the moves and decisions we use to tell this story very interesting.”

Recently, Lanskaya talked about her struggle with type 1 diabetes on Lera Kudryavtseva’s talk show. Roman Kostomarov’s partner in Ice Age, however, also selflessly plays in Women’s Happiness.

“Valeria never complained,” assured the director of the play, Maria Fedošová. She never focused on her health. It seems to me that they belong to the people who do not like to enjoy their problems and discuss them with others. This confirms the idea that success is not always accidental. It comes to people who have a whole range of necessary qualities – talent, hard work, will, character, endurance.

The premiere of the performance was attended by Nelli Kobzonová, who recently left the hospital. The widow of the legendary singer said she was very impressed by what she saw.

“The story about love, betrayal, incredible life paradoxes and, of course, happiness did not leave the audience indifferent,” said Fedošová.
