The star gained worldwide fame after the TV series The Nanny, for which she was nominated for an Emmy and a Golden Globe. Fran herself came up with the idea when her close friend, supermodel Twiggy, asked her to babysit her young daughter. The show ran for six seasons from 1993 to 1999 and became a huge hit in the US and other countries. His adaptation “My Fair Nanny” was filmed in Russia, Anastasia Zavorotnyuk played the main role in the sitcom. Notably, both actresses faced cancer. Anastasia is now fighting for her life under the supervision of doctors.

The actress has been married to screenwriter, director and producer Peter Jacobson for over twenty years. The couple separated in 1999, Fran has no children.
