From milkmaid to TikTok star: 65-year-old retiree writes songs and teaches not to age with soul

Nina Dmitrievna Reinhardt could remain a simple 65-year-old pensioner from the village of Chernakovo in the Novosibirsk region. But then TikTok appeared in her life and the life of yesterday’s grandmother changed dramatically. And now she’s Nina Rain!

Today’s TikTok star has had a long career: she worked as a milkmaid, an artificial insemination technician, worked in a local fish factory for several years, and after retirement… she did not sit in front of the TV, but took up her creative career.

Nina has about 100,000 thousand subscribers on TikTok, millions of views of her singing videos. One of her videos was also forwarded by Klava Kok!

And in December, the newly minted artist released her debut song “Hopochki”. It seems that a new star has risen in the musical firmament.

Nina, when did you decide to start social networks and what was the beginning?

I have been active on social networks for about a year. It all started when I just downloaded TikTok, scrolled through the feed and realized that I also wanted to show my creativity and give people some positivity.

I posted the first video and it was immediately recommended. It really surprised and inspired me. So I started filming. And later my granddaughter told me about the Punch app (“mobile studio” for creating and promoting music)where I started recording not only covers, but also my own songs.

Were you afraid to come out with your creativity in public?

No, I wasn’t afraid. I have been singing and performing on stage most of my life. Therefore, social networks are another opportunity for me to share my creativity with others.

How quickly did you come up with trends and recommendations before the videos started getting millions of views?

I figured out the trends quite quickly – first I picked the songs that appeared most often in the recommendations, and then I got into the music charts (but to speed up the process I often turned to the grandchildren, and they were happy to help me).

By the way, what do your friends and neighbors say about your work?

My loved ones support me: they know that I am very active and love to surprise with my creativity. True, there are people who criticize me and do not understand me. But I don’t care what other people think – I just sing for my own pleasure.

And finally, a few words about yourself.

My position in life is to be active, give others a good mood and enjoy every day! I always and everywhere sing, spend time with my grandchildren, travel, go to the gym and try to lead a healthy lifestyle. I can say that I am happy!
