‘King applauds!’: Kate Middleton and William supported by family after Duke of Sussex allegations

The Netflix documentary “Harry and Meghan” further divided the ranks of the British monarchy. Members of the royal family have backed the Prince and Princess of Wales’ decision not to respond to allegations made in the explosive series.

Royal expert Ingrid Seward said that King Charles III. and Queen Consort Camilla shared the position of Kate Middleton and Prince William. “Rather than lowering themselves to their level, they applauded the couple’s decision not to react in any way. The king and his wife are applauding them,” said Ingrid.

The youngest son of Charles III and the late Princess Diana said he had a humiliating conversation with his family when he announced his wish to step down as king in January 2020 and leave the UK with wife Meghan Markle and son Archie. Afterwards, his older brother William, his father (then Prince Charles) and the late Elizabeth II attended the meeting.

“It was horrible to hear my brother yelling and screaming at me and my dad saying things that just weren’t true. And my grandmother, you know, sits there quietly and takes it all in,” said the Duke of Sussex.

The fugitive prince also said that his wife was better at royal duties than Kate Middleton and Prince William. According to him, it bothered the members of the monarchy that Meghan Markle attracted everyone’s attention.

Ingrid Seward said that such comments must hurt the Prince and Princess of Wales. According to her, members of the royal family understand this and support them. An example of this was the Christmas service in Westminster Abbey, hosted by Kate Middleton. Charles III and Camila Parker-Bowles attended the event. They warmly hugged and kissed Kate and William, as well as their older children, 9-year-old George and 7-year-old Charlotte, reports the Daily Mail.

In addition, Kate Middleton and her closest allies from her inner circle responded to Meghan Markle in a subtle way. They arrived in similar burgundy outfits after the former American actress complained that she was wearing pastel tones so as not to overshadow other royals.

The biographer praised the Prince and Princess of Wales for handling the aftermath of the controversial series well. “Both William and Kate have been busy full-time with official royal duties while continuing to do their favorite things,” Stewart added.
