“The disease mutated”: widower Lyudmila Senchina told how she was dying of cancer

The famous singer and actress died in January 2018 at the age of 67. A year and a half ago, she was given a terrible diagnosis. Lyudmila Petrovna underwent major surgery and 14 cycles of chemotherapy, but she was never able to defeat the cancer.

The singer left her 49-year-old son Vyacheslav Timoshin from her first marriage and her husband Vladimir Andreev, with whom she spent the last 25 years of her bright life. Vladimir was the artist’s producer and concert director. “What Lyudmila had is not treated.” All they said was that she would live only two or three months, but she lasted a year and a half, ”said Andreev.

No one knew about Senchina’s illness – only her husband, son and close friend. Therefore, it was a blow for numerous fans and acquaintances of the singer. Doctors did everything possible – tried different drugs, changed the treatment regimen. “For a while there were very good tests. There was such hope that they won oncology. But the disease gradually mutated until it overwhelmed everything, “said the husband of the singer and actress.

After each “chemistry”, the main “Cinderella of the Soviet scene” was recommended complete rest. They warned – if you don’t follow the regime, the consequences will be dire. But she said she couldn’t live without the stage and hit the road, despite the breakdown, nausea and pain.

Before her death, Ludmila Petrovna spent almost a month in a hospital bed. Vyacheslav returned from abroad, where he has been living for many years. “I was with her the whole time. They assigned me a ward next to hers, she didn’t let anyone in next to her. Lyudmila terribly did not want to be pitied. Because of this, the son came to St. Petersburg and lived here all this time, ”said the widower.

According to Andreev, after Senkhina’s death she had small savings, an apartment in the northern capital and a dacha. The producers of the TV show offered the man money if he unleashes a scandal and divides the property with his stepson. However, according to Vladimir, he would never agree to spoil the crystal reputation of the owner of the “crystal” voice, which she highly valued.
