From the other world: MakSim, Pugacheva and other stars who miraculously survived

When a celebrity is in trouble, fans across the country come together to support the idol and their loved ones. Sometimes loss cannot be avoided, as was the case, for example, with Julia Nachalová: the artist fought the disease with all her might, the doctors did everything possible, but it did not bring any result.

Fortunately, the opposite also happens: for example, at the beginning of August, the singer MakSim (Maxim’s real name is Marina Abrosimova. – Approx. ed.) finally recovered after a long illness. This material is about her and other domestic celebrities who have literally returned from the other world.

On June 11, 2021, the singer fell ill during a concert in Kazan. Then, remembering Marina’s once addiction to alcohol, many decided that she allowed herself to perform in a drunken state. The artist denied such accusations and published a photo with a thermometer as evidence – it was already showing 40 °C.

That same evening, the artist was hospitalized with pneumonia. When the lung damage reached 40-45%, doctors put the artist into a medically induced coma, put her on a ventilator, but her condition continued to deteriorate. Marina had to be put on ECMO, a system for maintaining lung and heart function. It is usually approached when lung damage reaches 75%. The performer’s condition was assessed as extremely serious, and then the hope of even the most devoted fans was shaken.

But at the beginning of August – lo and behold! – there were reports of MakSim’s condition improving. The artist recovered, was disconnected from the ECMO machine, and on August 9 she was already transferred from intensive care to a regular ward. When Marina learned that she spent more than a month in a coma and scared the whole country, she decided to reach out through her social networks:

“It helped me a lot that they were worried about me, thinking about me and praying, it took me out of the other world. Today I am being transferred from intensive care to a regular ward and I can finally thank you all in person. When the doctors asked me how long I thought I had been in the coma, I said: 2 days. I couldn’t believe it had been over a month. <...> I am grateful to all of you, the doctors and the Lord God that I continue to live on this earth even though I have difficulty breathing.

Abortion, husband’s betrayal and fight for life: the tragedy of singer MakSim

In April 2020, Nadezhda Babkina scared the country. The artist strictly observed the then established quarantine and all measures, yet he contracted the coronavirus. On April 6, Nadezhda became ill, her temperature rose sharply. Doctors who arrived on call urgently hospitalized the singer.

“The doctors did a CT scan, they saw that 80 percent of the lungs were affected. Kidneys failed immediately. Later, I could not get out of the coma, “Babkina recalled after they left the horror behind. But in those days, the news about her health was scary: at some point, the singer’s condition was so serious that she was put into an artificial coma. Doctors fought for Babkina’s life for two weeks, and she herself remembers this time like this: “Everything happened as if from another space.” By the end of April, the bilateral pneumonia caused by the coronavirus had subsided – and the artist was soon released. Nadezhda calls it a scary time, but urges everyone who has experienced something like this not to despair.

Few people know that Alla Pugacheva survived clinical death. In the fall of 1992, the 43-year-old singer decided to radically rejuvenate herself: at the same time, she got her breasts, facelift and liposuction. The doctors warned: this is a serious burden on the body, the heart may not be able to withstand it, but the Primadona firmly decided that she wants to be young, slim and beautiful.

The operations were performed in Switzerland, but already on the plane on the way home, the singer felt sick – her temperature rose. Alla Borisovna was taken to the capital’s hospital already in critical condition: for almost a day, doctors fought for her life and at some point almost lost her.

After the experience, Pugačeva did not describe the state of clinical death in any way. “I didn’t see anything, and that’s why I probably came back,” was the singer’s only reply.

The famous producer survived clinical death in his youth when he was only 17 years old. It happened during a complex heart operation that worried Maxim from an early age. Then Fadeev was miraculously saved.

“I was a speck of dust and I realized I could move anywhere on the planet in a second. I went to a cemetery in Paris where my father said a relative of ours was buried. I found myself there, saw a tombstone with our surname and… woke up. The doctors brought me back to life. After 20 years, my father and I decided to visit this cemetery. And a wonderful thing happened: I had never been to this city, but I was able to lead my father to the tombstone of our relative. Then I realized that during the operation I did not see a dream – I was there and was the floating particle, ”shared the producer a few years later.

When the wife is older: these star marriages have not stood the test of time

Oleg Gazmanov calls this incident in his life a visit to the other world. During the performance at the Artek camp, the artist was asked to pick up the second microphone. As soon as Oleg touched the equipment, he fell violently. It turned out that the equipment was not grounded and the artist was electrocuted. Gazmanov lost consciousness and woke up already in the hospital: doctors thought he had died. It turned out that the singer survived clinical death, but miraculously survived.

“There was nothing around – no color, no smell, no sounds… No pain, nothing.” Such euphoria. And it seemed that I had a choice: to leave the world or to return, “the artist recalled. Then he thought he hadn’t written all the songs yet. And at that moment I woke up: “I opened my eyes and saw that I was surrounded by doctors in the ward.”
