All Princess Diana lovers: we remember in whose arms the “Queen of Hearts” was forgotten.

The personal life of Princess Diana cannot be called happy. The “Queen of Human Hearts” was desperately looking for love, only to be unlucky all the time. The only marriage with Prince Charles turned out to be a mistake, and all subsequent partners did not become the same.

An unhappy union led to mutual adultery. In the media, Diana’s novels were treated differently: some wrote that she cheated out of revenge or boredom, others were sure that the princess was hungry for true love. Today we want to talk about all the lovers of Lady Dee.

Barry Mannaki

We met in 1985-1986

Barry Mannaki was Princess Diana’s bodyguard. They tried in every possible way to observe subordination, but the large amount of time spent together took its toll. Lady Dee saw in Barry a man about to cry into his waistcoat. In 1985, when the marriage of Diana and Charles finally broke up, she gave herself a free pass. Wanting to feel again what passion, love and attraction are, she did not search for long and threw herself into the arms of her guardian. Mannaki was 14 years older than her and also married, so this relationship did not promise anything serious from the very beginning. And yet it was an exit.

“I felt like a little girl in his presence. I always wanted him to compliment me; I looked for him everywhere. <...> I was happy to leave everything… And just run away and live with him. Can you imagine? And he always replied that it was a good idea, ─ Diana said about Barry in 1991, not knowing that these amateur shots would be sold to one of the television channels and published shortly after her death.

But even then, in 1986, when Prince Charles found out about the affair between Diana and Barry, the bodyguard was immediately transferred to another facility. And a year later Mannaki died in an accident – they say his death was staged because he knew too much.

James Hewitt

They met between 1986 and 1988 (or, according to Hewitt himself, until 1991)

In front of you is Diana’s most famous lover and the only one she didn’t deny in the famous 1995 interview. But in her case, it would be foolish to deny it, given how famous people were thanks to the book “The Princess in Love” (which Hewitt himself co-authored).

According to the police officer, he was always close to Diana and waited for her to take the first step. They began dating in late summer 1986: the princess then asked Hewitt to become her riding instructor. “Everything happened quickly and mutually between me and Diana,” James recalled.

He also said that Lady Dee was an attention-seeking, suspicious and demanding woman. Hewitt recounted how he was sent to serve in Germany in 1989, that the princess could not forgive him and stopped writing. But after his return, their romance rekindled. The last breakup, according to James, occurred due to the fact that in 1991 there was no longer any strength or opportunity to hide the relationship. The book Princess of Love, published years later, with too intimate details of their relationship, was perceived by Princess Diana as a betrayal. Interestingly, Hewitt’s act was also condemned by the public – so much so that he had to move to Spain for permanent residence.

David Waterhouse

We met in 1988-1992

David and Diana were related, though very, very distant. As this most distant relative, Waterhouse was allowed to accompany the princess on official occasions. And not only that. Together with David, Lady Di rested at a ski resort in Switzerland, went to rock concerts. According to some reports, their romance lasted until 1992. Then Diana herself stopped communicating with David, believing that this novel would not help her win the information battle against the royal family. Interestingly, there is no direct evidence of a relationship between Diana and David. The man has never commented on the relationship with the princess, which of course serves to his credit.

James Gilby

We met in 1989-1992

According to some reports, Diana and James met two years before the wedding of the “Queen of Hearts”. The princess, already married to Charles, resumed communication with an old friend, and how close it was can be judged by a recording of their telephone conversation from 1989, which leaked to the media. Then Diana complained to him about Charles, her loneliness and her difficult relationship with the royal family. And James comforted her, called her “dear” and “octopus” (vulnerable, soft), said he wanted to be there, they exchanged kisses over the phone receiver. There were also many other intimate details. It is believed that James really loved Diana. One of the few men in her life.

Oliver Hoare

He met in 1992-1994

Diana was introduced to millionaire Oliver Hoare by her husband Charles. The princess was fascinated by Oliver for his ability to hold almost any conversation, erudition and adaptability to life. Hoare stayed away from Lady Di because he considered Charles a friend and didn’t want to do things behind his back. They got together in 1992 when Diana and Charles officially parted ways.

And yet this novel was short-lived. Back in 1994, Oliver focused on family (yes, he was married and wasn’t going to ruin his marriage for the princess) and Diana couldn’t forgive him for that, so she started calling him home in a fit of jealousy. In total, Hoare received about 300 anonymous calls!

Will Carling

He met in 1993-1995

Another was rugby player Will Carling: in 1993 he started giving rugby lessons to Princes Harry and William. Their relationship quickly went further than it should have. Diana was 5 years older than Will, but they quickly hit it off. And they didn’t hide either.

Carling was kicked out of the palace when the press found out about his affair with Diana. The scandal led to Will’s divorce from his wife. Charles and Diana soon followed. It is remarkable that the rugby player did not admit to adultery either then or now.

Hasnat Khan

He met in 1996-1997

Hasnat became the main love of Princess Diana. They met during a charity mission and immediately fell in love. Their romance was short-lived but passionate. Butler Paul Burrell recounted years later how he organized their secret meeting at Kensington Palace, where the princess met him fully armed – in a fur coat that she wore over her naked body.

Diana was so in love that she even planned to marry Hasnat and thought about changing her religion for the sake of her beloved (Khan is a Muslim). But the marriage proposal never came: Khan focused on his career, and Diana (according to the recollections of the same butler) was too meek and literally suffocated her beloved man with her love and attention. This is believed to have destroyed their relationship.

Come on Al Fayed

Met in 1997

Dodi Al-Fayed was a heartthrob, but Diana completely changed his view of the world. “I won’t have a single girl anymore, except for Diana,” Dodi repeated in his entourage. But here’s the catch: Lady Dee couldn’t boast of mutual feelings. And yet she gave him a chance – he charmed her children all the more.

Dodi was persistent: after the first holiday together, he literally filled his beloved with gifts. The case went to the betrothal – it didn’t happen because of the accident. On August 31, 1997, Diana and Dodi died.
