The Oscar winner admitted that she was tired of being asked what her character Andy’s boyfriend was like in The Devil Wears Prada. Recall that an aspiring journalist met Nate, played by Adrian Grenier.
For most of the movie, the boyfriend is upset that his lover is working around the clock. Andy ran errands for Runway magazine editor-in-chief Miranda Priestley, played by Meryl Streep.
On Watch What Happens Live, Ann assured that her character’s boyfriend was not a narcissistic villain. “I think Andy and Nate were very young and trying to build a good relationship. He really acted like a jerk, but I was the same in my 20s. Nate was young and stupid!” Ann remarked.
Hathaway admitted that if they decide to go ahead with the film, she would like to see Nate as an understanding and caring man. “I believe he could grow up and stop being so selfish. To be honest, I wouldn’t want to be judged by the things I did when I was 20. So no Nate is a villain,” added the actress.
The film “The Devil Wears Prada” brought Anna international fame and received many positive reviews from critics. The picture about the life of a fashion magazine became one of the most expensive because of the clothes that were used for filming. In total, the producers spent about a million dollars.
