The star surgeon was taken on his final journey yesterday, September 10th. The funeral ceremony was held in the church of the Great Martyr George the Victorious. Relatives, friends and colleagues came to say goodbye to Gogiberidz. Few knew that Otari was unable to recover from the effects of Covid in February.
The disease, known for its unpredictable consequences, caused complications to the cardiovascular system, and additional stress was provided by an overly intense workload. Alexander Vdovin, a colleague of Gogiberidze, noted that the death of the plastic surgeon was unexpected. “Of course Otari didn’t want to die. It didn’t even occur to him. He was making plans and constantly developing his skills,” he said.

Vdovin stated that Gogiberidze was a wonderful person and a truly gifted specialist. “A very pleasant person, human, a real professional in his field, an incredibly talented person. I’ve known him for a very long time, so I know what I’m talking about,” said Vdovin.
Alexander talked about the cause of Otari’s death. “Many surgeons have problems with blood vessels. During operations, we have to stand on our feet for a long time. Of course, Covid made everything worse,” MK quotes colleague Gogiberidze.

The ex-wife of the plastic surgeon, TV presenter Yana Laputina, spoke about her last meeting with Otari. After the breakup, the couple communicated regularly and maintained a warm relationship because of their daughter together. “As always, we argued about something. It was our favorite activity,” she recalled.
Laputina and Gogiberidze met in the mid-2000s and got married in 2008. In 2011, the couple had a daughter. A surgeon performed a rhinoplasty on his wife, and at the age of 45, Yana wanted to have a circular facelift.
