The stars of “Guest from the Future”: the fate of Natasha Guseva, Lesha Fomkin and other actors of the saga

Natasha Guseva was one of the most popular female actresses in Soviet cinema. Her famous role as Alisa Selezneva brought the young girl with a touching appearance fame throughout the Soviet Union. True, Natasha herself was not satisfied with such attention: since childhood she dreamed of becoming a biologist. After the success of films with her participation, Natalia was often offered roles. For example, in the crime drama “Accident – the policeman’s daughter.” However, the actress refused all offers for two reasons: she did not want to spoil the bright image of Alice, and she tried to enter the Moscow Institute in the Department of Biotechnology. By the way, she succeeded: in 1994, Guseva finished her studies and now heads a company that develops and produces immunoanalytical test systems for the diagnosis of a number of infectious diseases. Natalya is raising her daughter Alesya from her ex-husband, the couple divorced in 2001.

Kolya Gerasimov was the dream of all Soviet schoolgirls, and the dream of Kolya himself, more precisely, actor Alexei Fomkin, was a film career, but after “The Guest” the guy did not receive offers. Alexey decided to wait out the stagnation in his career in the army, but, paradoxically, it was during the period of his service that the directors began to invite him. Hoping that he would still be able to prove himself after the army, Fomkin got a job at the Gorky Moscow Art Theater. Even then, the young man suffered from heavy drinking, which was the reason for his expulsion from the theater. Alexey moved to the village, where he worked as a miller, and then lived with his wife in Vladimir. The actor died, suffocated in an apartment fire. He was drunk and sleeping too hard. Fomkin was 26 years old.

Of course, by the time The Guest was filmed, Innocent was already a famous artist, but the role in the fantasy TV series lifted Innocent to an even greater wave of success. But not all viewers and fans of “The Guest” know how the actors have been in recent years. In the early 2000s, the actor developed complications from diabetes, which led to gangrene in his left leg and amputation of his leg. A year later, in 2006, the second leg was also amputated. In 2009 Vjačeslav Innocent died.

However, the reason was not a lack of proposals, but the principled attitude of the artist, who was not satisfied with the state of cinematography of the 90s. The actor moved to a village near Moscow (Kononov lived alone, was divorced, had no children), but a few years later it was necessary to return to the city: Kononov went to the hospital with pneumonia, against which heart failure developed. The actor did not have enough money for medicine and his condition was getting worse… In 2007, the actor died.

Beautiful Marianna studied as a schoolgirl at the Young Muscovite Theater, but decided to study at the Philosophical Faculty of Moscow State University and never acted in films again. After university, Ionesyan moved to the United States, where she now runs a successful business.

The 66-year-old Gerasimov not only built a successful career in cinema, but also became interested in political activities. Now the former actor holds the post of chairman of the Moscow Union of Cameramen, and since 2001 Gerasimov has been a member of the Moscow City Duma from United Russia and chairman of the Committee on Culture. Gerasimov’s daughter, co-owner of Moscow Souvenir Plus, was engaged in decorating the streets of Moscow for May holidays in 2016.

Beautiful Elena, actress and model, has tried many activities in her life. After school, Metelkina worked in a library, and at the age of 21 she got into the Soviet fashion business, where she was noticed by filmmakers. First, the model played an alien in the film by Kira Bulychev and Richard Viktorov “Through hardships to the stars”, and then a resident of the future in the film “Guest”. Metelka’s filmography is small, and the girl herself did not aspire to the screen, preferring to work as a model. In the early 90s, Elena chose an even more “fashionable” profession for that time – she got a job as the secretary of banker Ivan Kivelidi, who was poisoned in 1995. After the death of her boss, Metelkina worked as a model with varying degrees of success. Without a professional education, the girl also earned money as a saleswoman in shoe and clothing stores, a teacher at a boarding school, a leader in training centers and a cleaner in a temple. One of the last jobs of 63-year-old Metelkina is in the choir of a Moscow parish church.

The model and TV presenter, popular at the beginning of the 21st century, began her journey with a role in the movie “Guest from the Future”! After school, Inna, then Čurkina, became a finalist in the first Moscow beauty contest in the history of the Soviet Union, at the age of 21 she married the Spanish businessman Augustin Gomez and after the divorce began working as a model, as well as studying as a hairdresser and beautician. Inna became popular as the host of the children’s program Call Kuza. Remember that cutting-edge show where kids controlled a cartoon character on the screen using their homemade feature phones? Inna continues to act in films and is also engaged in charity work.

Vasilyeva was born into a film family: her father is director Yevgeny Vasilyev and her mother is actress Zhanna Prokhorenko. But Catherine’s filmography is much more modest than her mother’s portfolio. In the 1990s, Vasilyeva rarely received offers to shoot and began working as a dubbing actress. Now 56-year-old Yekaterina is sometimes removed and serves voluntarily as a bell ringer in a church in Firsanovka near Moscow.
