Stars Group “Circumstances” about the video for the track “Icebreaker” in an interview exclusively for VOICE

“Circumstances” is a truly original group. Did you create this style on purpose or did it just happen by itself?

Lena:
We didn’t work on it on purpose. We did a lot of experiments on the way to our own sound, but now the image of the group is dictated not only by music, but also by our concerts, videos, social networks. The Okolnosti group is not just Kostya and I, it is a big creative team.

Today we will try not to talk about the past – enough has been said about this in other interviews – we will discuss the present and the future. Tell us what you are proud of now and what are your plans for the future?

Bone:
– At the moment we have already released two full-length albums.
For many, the album “Resist” is associated with youthful maximalism, with rebellion, and the album “Losses” already seems like a story of farewell to childhood/youth.
Our lyrical hero is inextricably linked to both the public mood and our own thoughts/experiences. And to be honest, I’m curious to see where this journey will take our hero 🙂
3. What feelings do you think the track “Icebreaker” should evoke in the listeners?

Lena:
– The sound of “Icebreaker” is different from our previous recordings, in this work we combined all the collected musical experiences.
I will not predict the reaction of our audience, some will like it, some will not, we leave the choice to our listeners.

What is special about this video for you? How did you come up with the idea of ​​shooting it like this?

Bone:
– It happened that we only had 2 days to think and shoot the video.
In fact, it was an unexpected video shoot that gave birth to Icebreaker. We didn’t plan to release it so soon, the song was very raw.
“We break into blood and start again,” – in this song I wanted to capture the moment of realization and entering a new path.
We develop this idea in the video, destroying everything old in the name of new with a baseball bat.

Can it be said that your mood strongly influences the choice of stylistic musical decisions in your work? Or do you follow fashion trends in this regard?

Bone:
— Sometimes we experiment, mix styles and techniques, delve into details and look for something special to achieve a unique result. Sometimes we just write a song with a guitar, fast and from the heart. It cannot be denied that the mood and environment is reflected in our work, we try to listen to it.

Do you ever write a song but not release it? How many such compositions have accumulated?

Lena:
— Of course there are some unpublished things. But everything has its time. Something is not ready yet, something needs to be cut.

You can feel that the new tracks are taking on a darker mood. It is so? Or is the opinion far-fetched?

Lena:
– On the contrary, our last songs are rather dreamy. We’ll see what happens next.
