
The Russian IT businessman has been living in London since 2004. Today it was revealed that he had died suddenly. Valeria Lyubimova, Kommersant’s former business director, spoke about Schuppe’s death.
“Shupe Egor. RIP,” wrote Valeria. She clarified that George died on the ninth day after his mother’s death. Friends and relatives of the businessman explained that he had a heart attack.
The businessman was born on March 11, 1971 in Moscow in the family of a doctor of biological sciences. At school, George liked chemistry and biology. Graduated from the Institute of Fine Chemical Technologies. In the late 1980s, Schuppe became interested in computers, genetics and information technology. The entrepreneur began importing the first personal computers to the USSR and then to Russia. Georgy created the first computer department at the Institute of General Genetics NI Vavilova.

In the early 1990s, Schuppe was the deputy business director of the Center for Contemporary Art in Yakimana. In 1996, the businessman, together with Emelyan Zakharov and Rafael Filinov, created the first private Internet provider in Russia – Cityline. It invested in the development of free Russian content.
At the time of Cityline’s launch, there were 60,000 users in Russia. At the end of the company’s activity, in 2001, their number was already 150 thousand. Schuppe also co-founded the production center NetSkate.
George left Russia in 2002. He worked as a business angel for a number of high-tech projects. In 2008, together with Eduard Shenderovich, the businessman founded Kite Ventures, a fund for investments in technologies and Internet projects. One of his most successful projects is the German company Delivery Hero.

In 2014, Schuppe was put on the wanted list on suspicion of organizing the murder of tycoon Alexander Mineev. Three years later, the United Kingdom refused to extradite the businessman. The English court recognized the criminal case as unfounded. Russia did not appeal this decision. George himself has denied involvement in the high-profile case.
From 1997 to 2012, Schuppe was married to Boris Berezovsky’s daughter, Yekaterina. She gave birth to the businessman’s four children.
The creator of the program “Good night, children!” died recently in Moscow. Vladimir Meyerzon. Actress Valentina Grishonkina died at the age of 78. Honored Artist of Russia Andrei Torkhov died in Ryazan.
