Guests who came from all over the world for the spectacular wedding were delighted by both the celebration and the beauty of the newlyweds. However, one key member of the Hashemite royal family was absent from the wedding ceremony and subsequent wedding reception: 71-year-old Queen Noor.
The fourth wife of King Hussein I, stepmother of the current King Abdullah II. and the “adoptive mother-in-law” of Queen Rania, who is very active on social media, did not send even a hint of congratulations there. past celebration. This reeks of scandal!
It is not clear whether the Queen Dowager of Jordan was not invited on purpose, or whether she missed the wedding on her own initiative (no less on purpose). Nur is known to have disliked Rania in 1993, when Abdullah ibn Hussein was about to marry a Palestinian girl.
In addition, Nur, the fourth wife of King Hussein I, for some reason was not in the official photos of the wedding of Abdullah and Rania. The “adoptive mother-in-law” became angry and decided that in this way the young woman showed her disapproving attitude – although most likely there was some misunderstanding, since Abdullah was not then the crown prince and there was no indication of the imminent ascension of the Rania.

In addition, one of Nur’s sons, Prince Hamza, decided to oppose Abdullah. His intention to stage a coup d’état to change power was revealed – if all went well, Hamza would become the new king of Jordan, as his father’s will, Abdullah II, first named his younger half-brother as heir, rather than his own eldest son.
But the insidious intentions came to light, Hamza confessed everything and Abdullah deprived him of his right to the throne. Since then, the conflict between the brothers has been simmering, which we wrote about in detail in the article Tragedy and secrets of the Jordanian royal family.

It is important to note that Noor was the only member of the Hashemite royal family to vehemently and publicly defend Hamza. Her other children maintain warm relations with Abdullah, attended the wedding of Hussein’s heir, and hold important government positions. Both the ruling dynasty and the people of Jordan condemn the prince for his repeated attempts to destabilize the situation and praise the king’s peace and all his attempts to overcome the economic crisis.
Of course, like any critic of the authorities, Hamza has like-minded people, including the nobility and top business – whose support he relied on in his attempts to challenge Abdullah’s power. But the influence of the Jordanian king is very great and he was able to establish good relations with all the representatives of the key world powers, so that the opposition still remained in the minority and Hamza’s plans were exposed. Now the younger brother of the king is under a kind of house arrest and does not leave Jordan.
Therefore, speaking on the side of the rebellious son does not add Nur points. At the same time, however, she remains an official representative of the crown and a senior member of the dynasty. And ignoring Hussein’s wedding is a kind of statement by which Nur emphasized the split, to which Abdullah and Rania react very painfully, who put the interests of the family above everything else.
Well, it looks like the rich in families have the same problems as the not-so-rich!
