The second season of the comedy dystopia starts today “Two hills”, you can already watch the first episodes in the START online cinema. The film takes place in the year 2140, when almost all humans on Earth have died out due to the use of a biological virus. The remaining women created an ideal world in which there is no war, disease and violence. In the new season, Elena Zoevna, the heroine of Anna Snatkina, becomes the mayor of the eco-city of Two Hills. He decides to move the primates away from his friends. However, they are not going to leave Moscow. In an exclusive interview with VOICE, the actress talked about the transformation of her character, as well as how her husband Viktor Vasiliev and daughter Veronika reacted to this series.
– Anna, in the first season “Two hills” shows convincingly how women live perfectly without men, that men are evil. However, things change in the second season. When you agreed to participate in this project, did you know that there would be a second season?
– I did not know. I think the producers made this decision only after the first season was successful. I am very happy that our film “Two hills” it was well received by audiences and praised by critics. We learned that there would be a second season about three months before filming began – last summer.

The first season was positively received by feminists. Did it make you happy?
— There is an interesting philosophical line in our series. And it also has an important point – that in a world without men, everything is not so good. (smiles). In general, there is something to think about – not everything is as beautiful as it seems at first glance. The attraction between a man and a woman, love – no one can cancel.
– In the second season, your heroine Elena Zoevna becomes the mother of the city, but immediately begins to have problems with its leadership. He often consults with his predecessor played by Svetlana Kamynina. Anna, and you personally have leadership qualities – could you lead, if not a city, then perhaps a public organization?
– I think yes. I can’t say that I internally disagreed with my heroine. She has leadership skills, she occupies a good position at the very beginning of the series – Minister of Culture. However, after taking up the position of mayor of the city, she realizes that she does not have enough experience. Sometimes you have to leave something out in order to get the result. Sacrifices are often required.
– One of the key lines of the second season is the transformation of your heroine who became the mother of the city. Namely: nature takes over and your heroine’s feelings awaken. Is there really a love line involving her?
It was already hinted at in the first season. And in the second, Elena Zoevna has not only a love line, but also a revision of many life positions, the relationship between her daughter and mother. As we know from the first season, mothers in “Two Hills” do not raise their children. They are given up for education up to a certain age. Because of this, the connection between mother and daughter is lost. Therefore, a global transformation is now taking place – a revision of all relationships that were originally established in the “Two Hills”.
– What do you think is rational, useful for our life in this ideal world “Two hills” and what is wrong?
– My personal position – I can’t imagine life without men. I am not for matriarchy and not for patriarchy. I am for life on equal terms in the modern world. Yes, in “Two hills” there are positive aspects – this is a kind of eco-world, health, beauty, longevity.
– The age limit for the series is set to 18+. Has nudity and bed scenes. But it’s all beautifully shot. And yet, how do you feel about it?
“We can’t live without it either. But on this show, we don’t tolerate intimate relationships for show. And there is a fine line here – to tell the viewer honest things, but at the same time in a way that does not seem vulgar. It seems to me that we succeeded.
– Representatives of the primates – the heroes of Vladimir Epifantsev, Andrey Skorokhod – often made vulgar jokes. You didn’t mind that?
– I think the “soaking” of men is expressively represented in this way. They are used to living in a harsh world – a big garbage dump, actually. They didn’t have beautiful women. Therefore, in the context of the characters they play, these jokes were appropriate. But I think that women can cultivate and educate them to the maximum.
– What is your most vivid impression from filming this series?
— I had great pleasure working in our large friendly team – all of them are real professionals. Huge pavilions and spectacular scenery were built in Moscow. When I first went there, I couldn’t believe that something like this could be invented and done. We also filmed in a beautiful modern park in the Krasnodar Territory. For me, it is important that this is not a copy of some foreign series, but a unique film. And I am very grateful to the director of the series and the producers for approving me for this great unusual role that helped me emerge in a new capacity.
– I recently asked her in an interview with Svetlana Kamynina: If women led leading countries, would life in them improve? Would it be possible to avoid wars? She replied that she wanted to believe that then the situation with conflicts would be reduced to zero. Anna, what is your opinion?
— Of course, feminine energy is creative. But there are other cases. I know a lot of very militant women who could do the exact opposite. Management of large countries – in my opinion, this is complex energy, a very responsible matter. I think that everything depends on the wisdom, talent of a person, his perception of the world.
– How did filming in this series affect your personal life? When you got home, did you criticize your husband for the mess or something else?
— My husband is clean (Laughter). I always try to separate the scene and my personal life. That’s why I never bring any problems related to my heroine’s character into our family. I am an actress on set and at home I am my wife and mother. And you know, regardless of the series, I try to make life more comfortable for my family.
– Your husband Viktor Vasiliev is known for his wonderful sense of humor. Did he watch this show? Wasn’t he kidding you?
– Yes, Victor watched the series. He really liked the first season. In addition, he also played in the second season. The husband was offered this job, he passed the test. It wasn’t all about me. I will say that Victor did not become a primate in “Two hills” – has a different function in this movie. My husband generally has a lot of respect for my work in cinema. He knows that I am very picky, I agree to play only in quality projects. And I try to do my best work.
– You have been married for 10 years. Psychologists talk about a crisis of 7 years – when fatigue from each other appears – people get bored with each other, romance disappears. Have you had such a problem in your life? Are you tired of your husband?
“Fortunately, we didn’t run into it.” I think it all depends on how people fit together, if they like each other, if they compromise, if they try to work on each other. Husband fatigue is a very strange term for me in general.
– Your 10-year-old daughter Veronica probably barely watched Two Hills, given the age limit…
– You know, I can tell you a secret – she looked. My daughter really enjoyed the show. Looking forward to the second season.
Is a third season of Two Hills possible?
– If the second season is successful, I think so. I really want this. I hope that the viewer will appreciate our work and give us a ticket to the future life.
