The youngest daughter of Prince Andrew (Duke of York) and Sarah Ferguson (Duchess of York) posted a photo of the baby wearing a bright bodysuit and a blue knit hat with a white brim. Evgenia also caught the eldest son, 2-year-old Augustus, standing by the crib, watching his younger brother with interest and gently stroking his head.

“Jack and I wanted to share the news that we welcomed our little boy, Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank, on May 30, 2023, weighing 7.1 lbs. Augie is already enjoying being a big brother,” said Princess Eugenie.

The baby was born around 9am London time. He got his second name in honor of his great-great-grandfather George, as well as grandfather George Brooksbank, who died aged 72 in 2021. The third name is a tribute to Eugenia’s grandfather, Fergie’s father, Major Ronald Ferguson.

Ernest became 13th in line to the throne after his mother and older brother, pushing the late Elizabeth II’s youngest son, Prince Edward, into 14th place. Representatives of Buckingham Palace also announced the addition to the family of King Charles III’s niece. “Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their son, Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank,” the official website said.

However, Ernest will not receive the title and, according to the rules established by George V in 1917, he does not have the right to be called His Royal Highness. He is the first of Elizabeth II’s great-grandchildren, born after her death in September last year, the Daily Mail reports.
