Exaggerated, that’s how you can confidently call the Range Rover. It offers a lot of luxury, a lot of space and a lot of performance. This new SV can even keep up with super sports cars in terms of excess horsepower.

Land Rover has introduced a new variant of the Range Rover, the SV. The model has a twin-turbo V8 with a whopping 615 hp and 750 Nm. What does this mean for the zero-to-hundred time? After 4.5 seconds it’s already over. And the cake is only ready at 261 kilometers per hour.

Of course, the new engine is not particularly polar bear-friendly. The almost 2800 kilo colossus has a consumption of 1 to 8.5 on paper, so in practice it should be even more dramatic.

Plug-in hybrids with more electric range

Incidentally, Land Rover has also improved the plug-in hybrid variants. You get a more powerful electric motor (160 kW), which increases the system output to 550 hp (from 510) or 460 hp (from 440 hp).

The CO2 emissions of the plug-in hybrids, which would theoretically be 16 g/km, are optimistic. According to the WLTP, the electric range is 121 km (previously 113), but Land Rover is kind enough to mention that in practice it is around 94 km (previously 88).

Anything else? Yes, Land Rover has given the Range Rover models an improved infotainment system and there are also more personalization options for the Autobiography and the SV.

There are 391 interior color themes and 230 SV Bespoke paint finishes. If that’s not enough, you can have any color you want made using the Match to Sample service.

Typical of the Middle East is the option to have the Range Rover script in 24k gold on the bonnet and tailgate.

Land Rover engineers have also made changes to the Terrain Response system, adding some additional features such as off-road adaptive cruise control for the one owner who occasionally ventures off-road.
