Drunk driver bizarrely tries to avoid a fine

Getting behind the wheel with a drink is dangerous and therefore prohibited by law. However, not everyone adheres to it. For example, a man from Springfield, USA, gets behind the wheel. When he gets arrested, he does something very special to get out of his fine.

You may know the sniper sketch in which Bas Hoeflaak is arrested by the police while drunk and quickly crawls into the passenger seat (see video here). The American does roughly the same thing.

Drunk driver switches places with dog to avoid fine

The drunk driver was not arrested because he was too unstable or his driving behavior was negative. Only in a 50 zone he drove 30 kilometers per hour too fast. At 11:30 p.m., the car was stopped and an officer approached the car. He saw the driver switch places with his dog. The man then claimed he was not driving and should not be fined.

The driver ran

When the police officer asked the man about it, he exited the car through the passenger door and fled. The man was unable to flee on foot. He was stopped about 20 meters from his vehicle.

The man was on his way from Las Animas to Pueblo, so he was going in the wrong direction. There were also two outstanding arrest warrants against him. The driver’s dog was given to an acquaintance while the man was in jail. In short: the sniper trick doesn’t work and the man has to pay a fine in any case.
