See the electric Honda e:Ny1, sixth CR-V and new ZR-V here

Honda is unveiling three brand new SUVs. Introducing the sixth generation CR-V, an all-new model called the ZR-V and the brand’s first electric SUV: the Honda e:Ny1.

Well, while this latest tongue twister still sounds like a concept car name, it’s not. All three models, including the Honda e:Ny1, will be launched later this year. The electrification of the brand goes beyond the pure automotive division. Honda also introduced an all-electric scooter at the same event: the Honda EM1e, but more on that later.

Specifications of the Honda e:Ny1

With Honda’s first electric SUV, you’re probably particularly curious about the specs. Although the car is similar to the Honda HR-V, the Japanese say the Honda e:Ny1 is based on an entirely new platform designed for electric vehicles. An electric motor sits at the front. With the Honda e:Ny1, more than 200 hp and 310 Nm of torque are sent to the front wheels.

The battery under the car – literally, because the battery is very low to the ground – has a capacity of 68.8 kWh, of which around 62 kWh can be used. According to the WLTP measurement method, you get 412 kilometers. Fast charging is possible up to 78 kW, which would take about 45 minutes from 10 to 100 percent. No performance that amazes us. Another B-segment electric SUV, the Hyundai Kona, appears to be doing better on paper.

Honda CR-V debuts in Europe as a plug-in hybrid

In addition to the Honda e:Ny1, the sixth generation CR-V was also presented here. As you can see in the video above, the performance has a powerful and well-deserved entrance revise receive. Apart from that, the most important change is that the Honda CR-V is now also available as a plug-in hybrid in Europe.

You also have the choice between two engines: the standard full hybrid and the plug-in hybrid. Under the hood in both cases is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder. However, the plug-in hybrid has a larger and more powerful electric motor. In addition, this version could drive up to 81 kilometers purely electrically, claims Honda.

New model in the form of the Honda ZR-V

Honda currently has two SUVs on offer: the CR-V and the HR-V. From autumn this year, however, there will also be an intermediate form: the all-new Honda ZR-V. This C-Segmentator should bridge the gap between CR-V and HR-V. In short, there is also a 2.0-liter four-cylinder under the hood, albeit a different one than in the new CR-V. The new Honda ZR-V is a hybrid, but will not be available as a plug-in hybrid for the time being. Connecting the ZR-V is therefore not a problem.

A renewed CR-V, an all-new ZR-V and the all-electric Honda e:Ny1 will therefore strengthen the Honda fleet. But that is not all. The brand also presents the Honda EM1e: which stands for electric moped 1 as in: the first and then again electric Just to emphasize that the scooter is electric. The scooter also has Nio features, as it has a replaceable battery. With a full battery you can drive more than 40 kilometers at a speed of up to 45 km/h.
