Also the new generation of Skoda Superb and Kodiaq on the plug, but that’s not all

Skoda has announced that it will fundamentally change two cars this year. It affects the Superb and Kodiaq. The new generations of both models will then be available as plug-in hybrids, but that’s not all.

The Superb and the Kodiaq are both important cars for Skoda. For example, more than 777,000 units of the third generation Superb were delivered to customers. The brand’s largest SUV has already sold 740,000 cars.

According to Skoda, the Superb and Kodiaq are now due for an update. The brand promises big changes.

The cars can initially only be ordered with electrical support. At least in the form of a mild hybrid powertrain (so you don’t have to plug in) or at most a plug-in hybrid. “We will continue to offer the best of both worlds and deliver what our customers demand. That’s why both models are equipped with mild hybrid technology as standard, and a plug-in hybrid is also one of the drive options,” says CEO Klaus Zellmer.

A new design

The exterior design is also discussed. Unfortunately we can’t see that yet. The interior, which according to the Czech brand has been completely redesigned, is also yet to be seen. Both the station wagon and hatchback versions of the Superb will receive the update.

The new generation of the Superb is produced at the Volkswagen Group plant in Bratislava, Slovakia. The new Kodiaq rolls off the assembly line at a Skoda plant in Kvasiny (Czech Republic), where its predecessor is also manufactured.

The new generation of the Superb and the Kodiaq will be presented this autumn.
