BMW XM: the superlative of the heaviest and most powerful BMW

BMW is showing its most powerful model to date: the XM Label Red. The SUV is the superlative of the normal BMW XM.

The fact that BMW M would build an SUV came as a shock to many enthusiasts. And that’s remarkable, because the surprise of the Porsche Cayenne, Lamborghini Urus and Ferrari Purosangue was less great among purists.

Superlative of the heaviest and most powerful BMW

Whether you like the most powerful BMW XM is entirely subjective. To say that its big nose and high roofline are even more emphasized in this Label Red version is an understatement.

Not only the design stands out. The strongest BMW has a real powerhouse under the hood. The “normal” BMW XM delivers 653 hp and 800 Nm of torque with its 4.4-liter V8 and an electric motor.

The BMW XM Label Red is the most powerful BMW to date with 748 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque. With this power, BMW’s heaviest car, weighing around 2.7 tons, sprints from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 3.8 seconds. The top speed is 290 kilometers per hour, provided you check the M Drivers Pack. Otherwise the limiter intervenes at 250 kilometers per hour. If you only drive with the electric motor, you can do it at up to 140 kilometers per hour. With the 25.7 kWh battery pack you can travel 83 kilometers.

BMW XM Label Red is limited

What the strongest and heaviest BMW will cost is not yet known. Only 500 examples of the Label Red version will be built. The 70 hp and 200 Nm more are therefore reserved for a few customers.

It is unclear whether there will be other versions of the BMW XM with more power later. In a few years there will probably also be tuners who can crack the software and increase the performance to that of the Label Red. Then the normal XM is also the strongest BMW!

The “Standard” version

In the following video, Autovisie editor Dries van den Elzen takes you inside the “normal” BMW XM. He tells how bizarre this most powerful BMW is.
