We’re not looking for Easter eggs, we’re looking for overlanders! Do you know a?

We’re not looking for Easter eggs, we’re looking for overlanders! Do you know a?

Overlanders, elevated, adventurous looking cars. Cars made for road trips off the beaten track.

These can be station wagons, limousines, coupés and roadsters. The cars we are looking for have been modified by enthusiasts themselves or by specialist companies who expertly upgrade the cars with modified springs and damper kits. And in order not to die immediately as soon as it goes off-road, overlanders are often pulled up in combat gear.

Rock’n’Roll

Overlanders therefore often have ground protection, but sometimes also a bullbar-like construction. And when it threatens to get really rocky, there is also a robust roof rack that takes on a double function as an external roll cage. They are not real campers, but four-wheeled buddies with whom you will not shy away from a wild camping night.

Therefore, they are sometimes equipped with camping attributes such as a rooftop tent. Anyway, they’re really tough creations when compared to the sleek SUVs of mainstream automakers. Above all, they are creative carts that can handle a little bit more of the world.

There are also manufacturers who have made Overlanders. The Volkswagen Golf Country, a heavily modified and upgraded version of an ordinary Golf made by Steyr Daimler Puch in Graz, is a well-known and telling example. The Renault Scenic RX4 was also such a high civilian box with four-wheel drive and extra body protection. And more recently, of course, there was a new edition of the legendary Porsche 911 Dakar. Also an Overlander in our opinion, although the original of this car was developed as a competition car for the Dakar.

Looking for an Overlander based on a Mazda or Porsche

So what are we looking for a report on these PK Boy Scouts? Not a station wagon, because we’ve already found one and a simple lightweight sports car is already up for it. What we are still looking for is an interurban version of a Mazda MX-5. Yes, you read that right, we’re looking for an elevated and distorted version of the world’s best-selling roadster.

And last but not least, we are still looking for a Porsche, not a very expensive 911, but the much cheaper 924 or 944. Do you have an intercity version of this or do you know where you can find one? Write us an eMail [email protected] with the indication “Overlander”.
