The strongest Mercedes S-Class is so extremely expensive

Mercedes pulled the curtain on the most powerful S-Class last December. Now the brand is also announcing the price of the AMG S 63 E Performance. As expected, the model is not cheap.

The S-Class from Mercedes is the absolute pinnacle of the brand when it comes to luxury – assuming you see Maybach as an independent brand. The price is correspondingly steep.

The most powerful Mercedes-Benz S-Class takes care of that

The most powerful Mercedes S-Class costs 208,392.30 euros in Germany. This price includes the 19 percent VAT that you pay in Germany. It is not yet known what the car will cost in the Netherlands.

But what do you get for the money? In addition to all the luxury you get a lot of power. The Mercedes-AMG S 63 E Performance has a 4.0-liter V8 under the hood, which together with a 190 hp electric motor on the rear axle (with two-speed gearbox) delivers 802 hp and 1430 Nm of torque. The thick eight-cylinder sends its power to a nine-speed dual-clutch automatic.

Expensive options

Despite its weight of 2,600 kilograms, the colossus sprints from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 3.3 seconds. The top speed is limited to 250 kilometers per hour. Anyone who chooses the AMG Driver’s Package at a price of 2,261 euros can zoom onto the road at up to 290 kilometers per hour.

Do you also want to brake extremely fast? Then you should opt for ceramic brakes. That makes your Mercedes S-Class even more expensive: 8,925 euros. Expensive options are also the 21-inch wheels (3.8 million), carbon package (5.8 million) and a panoramic roof for just under 2,000 euros.

Mercedes will start delivering the most powerful S-Class ever in May 2023. At least for Germany. The luxury car will come onto the market here a little later. The Dutch price will be announced later.
