The Ford Bronco is coming to the Netherlands! But you won’t buy it…

The market for typical American SUVs is not big in the Netherlands. So it’s surprising that Ford decided to bring the Bronco here. In the USA it is already available from 32,000 euros. Here the Ford Bronco is significantly more expensive.

Two versions of the Ford Bronco are coming to the Netherlands: the Outer Banks and the Badlands. Both are powered by a 2.7-liter V6 with an output of 335 hp and 563 Nm of torque.

Ford Bronco will suffer from BPM

This source of energy is the biggest problem for us. Ford hasn’t announced starting prices for the Bronco yet, but due to the twin-turbo six-cylinder’s high CO2 emissions, the BPM penalty will be significant.

Again, Ford has the American Explorer in the price list. Although it has a 3.0-liter V6, it’s helped in the BPM range by the fact that it has plug-in hybrid technology under the hood.

More of an SUV than an SUV

Anyway, back to the Bronco, which is more of an SUV than an SUV. It features high- and low-range all-wheel drive, removable doors, a removable hard top, and an easy-to-clean interior.

Notorious for stalking OJ Simpson

Its design is inspired by the original 1966 Ford Bronco. In the USA, this model has legendary status. Decades later, the fifth-generation Bronco became infamous because of OJ Simpson fleeing police in a white copy.

Standard with a ten-speed automatic transmission

The new Bronco comes standard with a 10-speed automatic transmission and an electronically controlled two-speed transfer case. As Badlands, the Bronco also features a limited-slip differential and removable anti-roll bars for maximum front-wheel travel.

Ford Bronco focused on off-road use

Off-roading is very popular in the US. They also have a lot of “ground”. In the Netherlands, however, you will have little use for the hardcore nature of the Bronco with its many off-road options such as front plates, undercarriage protection plates and rock rails.

Ford equips its large SUV with a variety of intelligent systems, such as Trail Turn Assist, which brakes the inside rear wheel for the smallest possible turning circle, and Trail Control, an off-road cruise control. Seven driving modes are available.

Digital cockpit and infotainment screen

Inside you will find an 8-inch digital cockpit and a 12-inch multimedia screen. The latter runs Ford’s SYNC 4 system, which comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In addition, a B&O Premium Sound System is always available.

Bronco to the Netherlands in the second quarter

The Ford Bronco is coming to the Netherlands in the second quarter of this year. Prices will be announced later, but rest assured they are not advertised.
