The next Alfa Romeo Giula will be just as powerful as the Bugatti Veyron

The Alfa Romeo Giulia will get a successor, although it will no longer be a classic sedan. What can we expect from the model? An electric powertrain and an output of around 1000 hp, according to Alfa Romeo CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato.

It will still be a while before the next generation of Alfa Romeo Giulia is launched. This is supposed to happen after 2025. Fully electric, of course, because Alfa does not want to sell electric vehicles until 2027.

Alfa Romeo Giula with 350 to 1000 hp

The delivery program of the new Giulia starts with an output of 350 hp, Imparato confirms to Autocar. Above that, two more powerful variants: the Veloce with 800 hp and the Quadrifoglio with no less than 1000 hp.

Current Quadrifoglio with biturbo V6

The current Alfa Romeo Giula Quadrifoglio is powered by a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 with 510 hp, which accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in four seconds. The even more extreme GTA and GTAm achieve 540 hp and 3.6 seconds.

The Q models are currently rear-wheel drive. At 1000hp that probably wouldn’t be a good idea, so it’s only natural that the next Giula Quadrifoglio will be four-wheel drive.

Possibly Maserati powertrain for Q

There is also an obvious connection to the Maserati Granturismo Folgore, which uses three electric motors: one on the front axle and two on the rear axle. The Folgore has 761 hp and no less than 1350 Nm of torque.

Alfa Romeo Giula with a range of 700 km

According to Imparato, the electric Giulia should be able to achieve a WLTP range of up to 700 kilometers. The model will soon be on the same STLA platform as the new generation Peugeot 3008, which will have a comparable range.

The Giula will feature an 800-volt system architecture that allows for high charging speeds. According to Imparato, charging from 10 to 80 percent should soon be completed within 18 minutes.

Jeep Avenger with Alfa Romeo badge

Alfa Romeo’s first-ever electric vehicle will be unveiled in 2024. This will be a compact SUV based on the Jeep Avenger and will also be available with a combustion engine.
