If you have a Range Rover in this city, you have to deal with sky-high insurance premiums and companies that won’t even insure your car. What’s the problem in London?
According to British magazine Autocar, the Range Rover was the second most stolen car in the UK last year. Most examples of the large premium SUV were (and are) stolen in the capital, London.
Bizarrely high premium for Range Rover
Insurers are fed up with this and are increasingly refusing to insure a Range Rover. If they still want it, they charge bizarrely high monthly premiums.
Surprisingly, it is no longer possible for UK customers to self-insure the car through Land Rover. The manufacturer discontinued it on November 1, 2022, according to the website.
Up to £38,000 for a car
Autocar spoke to a buyer who pays £5,000 a year in premiums for four more cars, including a prized classic. His new Range Rover alone would cost £6,000 more.
Many insurers no longer want to insure ranges, others simply charge ridiculously high premiums, such as B. £20,000 and even £38,000 for a car in two cases.
Very popular with the Thieves Guild
The reason is simply that the model is extremely popular with thieves. If you want to register a Bentley Bentayga, Porsche Cayenne or Volvo XC90 in London, that’s no problem at all.
Autocar has put it to the test, attempting to insure a Bentayga and Range Rover each worth over £200,000 in London. Offers of 2000 euros were received for the Bentayga. The RR cost £4351 to £5952.
Most stolen car in the Netherlands
What is the most stolen car in the Netherlands? Oddly enough, the Toyota RAV4, with two and three models you’d expect there: Volkswagen Golf and Polo. The Toyota Auris and the Fiat 500 took fourth and fifth place.
