The most powerful Alpina ever, the B5 GT is also sold in the Netherlands. The price tag was not yet known, but it is now clear how much you will pay for the special sedan or touring.
As a car enthusiast you know the brand. Rather, it was its own brand that built cars with the platform and body of a BMW. The brand has now been taken over by the Bavarian carmaker. But the cars that are now being built are still real Alpinas.
B5 GT is the strongest
The B5 GT is also a real Alpina. The brand will remain independent until at least 2025. So no BMW with an Alpina badge.

Thanks to a 4.4-liter V8 with 634 hp and 850 Nm of torque, it is the most powerful Alpina ever. Power is sent to the wheels with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The B5 GT sedan completes the zero to one hundred sprint in 3.4 seconds. The Touring takes 0.2 seconds longer. The sedan sprints from 0 to 200 km/h in 11.3 seconds and the Touring in 11.9 seconds. The sedan reaches a top speed of 330 km/h, the touring brakes 8 km/h earlier.
That’s what the strongest Alpina in the Netherlands costs
Only 250 examples of the B5 GT will be built. The first cars will be delivered in July 2023. The price of the most powerful Alpina of all time is well over two tons in the Netherlands, namely 211,118 euros. That is significantly more than the BMW M5, which starts at 167,302 euros – for the Competition.
BMW M5 or Alpina B5? (E60)
Autovisie editor Peter Hilhorst previously drove the B5 of the E60 model range. It doesn’t have the V10 under the hood of the M5, but it’s faster, rarer, more civilized and more expensive. Is the Alpina also the better choice? You can see it in the video below.
