BMW is working on fragrance atomizers under the logo

You read that right. BMW has patented several fragrance systems for cars. This is reported by the generally well-informed Carbuzz. One of the systems has scent diffusers under the logo.
With the launch of the i Vision Dee, BMW told Autovisie that part of augmented reality is smell too. If you decide to drive through a beautiful field of flowers (then virtual), you can also choose this fragrance. You can read more about the i Vision Dee here.
fragrance in the interior
It is therefore not surprising that BMW has applied for a patent for a system that uses odor capsules in the air conditioning system to make the interior smell different.
Scent diffuser under the BMW logo
What is more striking is that BMW has also applied for a patent for a system in which fragrance diffusers are mounted under the logo. That means the car can also smell good from the outside, or do BMW electric cars spread the smell of petrol?

It is unclear exactly which scent is being distributed. We know that the sprinklers are placed under the logo on both the back and front. The system is reportedly activated when an owner approaches the car with the key in their pants or pocket. The keyless entry system detects if the owner is nearby. The smell then spreads in the direction of the driver.
It is not yet known whether the fragrance atomizers will eventually be placed on BMW models. It seems a bit unreal to see this feature on a car, besides it’s useless. Unless you lost your car in a parking garage and can find it with your nose…
As a car enthusiast, you probably prefer the smell of real gasoline and rubber. You can now get that from BMW too. Autovisie editor Dries van den Elzen takes you inside the M3 in the video below. A wonderful in-line 6 and rear wheel drive package.
