Skoda Enyaq RS iV breaks two world records in drifting
The Skoda Enyaq RS iV sets two world records in one day. The EV breaks the world record for “longest continuous drift on ice” and “longest continuous drift on ice by an electric car”.
Motoring journalist Richard Meaden drove in a circle with a circumference of 188.496 meters on the frozen lake Stortjärnen near Östersund, Sweden. By letting the car drift in controlled circles, the record was broken.

The Skoda Enyaq RS iV completed 39 laps, or rather “slid”. The maximum speed that the car reached was 48.69 kilometers per hour. At its slowest point, the EV was traveling at 31.64 kilometers per hour.
Special tyres
The car used is identical to the Skoda Enyaq RS iV, which comes from the factory and anyone can order. However, the tires have been adjusted. The Däckproffsen 245/35-R20 have 600 lugs of 5 millimeters. These tires are mounted on the front rims. The rear tires are fitted with Nokian Hakkapelitta 255/45-R20 tires with 300 2mm studs.
The Skoda Enyaq RS iV features an all-electric powertrain with two electric motors that produces 199 hp and 460 Nm of torque. The electric car sprints from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 6.5 seconds. The electric motors draw their energy from an 82 kWh battery pack, of which 77 kWh can be used. The battery pack can be charged with a maximum of 135 kW.
Video Skoda Enyaq
Even before the Skoda Enyaq RS iV came onto the market, Autovisie editor Peter Hilhorst drove the iV 60, the more common and cheaper variant of the electric car. You can see how this car drives in the video below.
