Peugeot wants to become Europe’s largest EV maker, and here’s how it’s done

Peugeot plans to become Europe’s largest maker of electric cars in the coming years, the company announced today. How the French do it and with which models, let us know.
From 2025 there will be an electric version of every Peugeot. From 2030, the brand wants to only sell electric vehicles. To achieve this, five new hatchlings are added within two years.
Peugeot wants to be the largest manufacturer
The: E-308 and the E308 SW, which you probably already know, are the first two electric models of the five. The E-308 and E-308 SW are powered by a new electric motor with an output of 115 kW (156 hp) and a range of more than 400 kilometers according to WLTP. As expected, there will also be an electric version of the 408.
Peugeot E-3008 and E-5008
Newly announced are the E-3008 and the E-5008. The electric vehicles are the first cars to be built on Stellantis’ STLA platform.

Not much is known about the E-3008. Peugeot lets you know that the E-5008 has a range of up to 700 kilometers. The EV will be available with three different powertrains, including an all-wheel drive version with one electric motor on the front axle and one on the rear.
In addition to electric cars, other hybrids will also be added. The 208, 2008, 308, 3008, 5008 and 408 models all get a mild hybrid powertrain. The PureTech petrol engine then delivers 100 or 136 hp and is supported by the 21 kW (29 hp) electric motor. As a mild hybrid, the electric motor is housed in the six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The mild hybrids reduce fuel consumption by 15 percent. According to Peugeot, the SUV can be driven completely emission-free in electric mode more than 50 percent of the time in city traffic.
