If one M3 is not enough: This is the brutal BMW M3 CS

If one M3 is not enough: This is the brutal BMW M3 CS

BMW officially pulls the good stuff out of the M3 CS. The model is the superlative of the normal M3 and the Competition.

Last week Autovisie was able to show the new BMW. In addition to the leaked images, the specifications of the Bimmer are now known – and confirmed by BMW.

BMW M3 CS is stronger

Under the hood of the BMW M3 CS is the same 3.0-liter straight-six as in the M3. However, the powertrain now delivers 550 hp and 650 Nm of torque. The Competition version of the M3 delivers 40 hp less.

BMW M3 CS, strongest, lightest

BMW managed to get the extra power out of the engine block by increasing the turbo pressure from 1.7 to 2.1 bar. The engine management and the exhaust system have also been modified.

Thanks to the increase in performance, the new BMW M3 CS sprints from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 3.4 seconds. From a standing start, the CS sprints to 200 km/h in just 11.1 seconds. The intermediate sprint from 80 to 120 km/h takes just 2.6 seconds. The car comes standard with the M Driver’s Pack. This electronically limits the speed to 302 kilometers per hour.

lighter

Not only the extra power contributes to the increase in performance. The reduced weight also helps. The model weighs around 20 kilograms less than the BMW M3 Competition because the air intakes, mirror caps, diffuser, spoiler and bonnet are made of carbon. In addition, the carbon fiber parts also give the M3 CS a slightly tougher look.

The carbon fiber can also be found in the interior. For example, the center console, shift paddles and trim strips are made of the expensive and lightweight material.

More power and less weight already make the BMW M3 CS better than the M3 Competition. But there is more. If you really want to push the BMW M3 CS to the limit, you should opt for the optional M carbon ceramic brake system. An expensive option, but a nice upgrade over the standard M-brake system, which is already good.

BMW M3 always with all-wheel drive

The BMW M3 CS always has all-wheel drive. The driver has the choice of how the power is distributed. Only rear-wheel drive of the CS is possible.

A price tag of almost 2 tons

The BMW M3 CS is only produced in small numbers. The market launch will take place in March 2023. In the Netherlands you have to pay 191,844 euros for the wonderful sports sedan.
