Most affordable Polestar 2 will be rear-wheel drive

Polestar fits the 2. The electric car can now charge faster, has a longer range and now comes with rear-wheel drive as standard.
The Polestar 2 is a popular electric vehicle. The car received an update last year. Now it’s time for some adjustments.
Polestar 2 is basically rear-wheel drive
The Polestar two was initially only available with all-wheel drive. System performance was good at 408 hp. The front-wheel drive version was added in 2021. The cheapest Polestar 2 still has the 69 kWh battery pack. The Long Range Single Motor gets an 82 kWh battery.

The motorized versions no longer have front-wheel drive, but rear-wheel drive. The new engine has a maximum output of 220 kW (300 hp), up from 170 kW (232 hp). The torque has also increased. It used to be 330 Nm, now it’s 490 Nm.
The power increase reduced the sprint time by 1.2 seconds. The slip-on sprints from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 6.2 seconds.

In addition to the motor power, the charging power of the cheapest Polestar 2 is also increasing. It was 130 kW before, now it is 135 kW. If you opt for the larger 82 kWh battery pack, you can charge up to 205 kW. The range of the Long Range Single Motor is now 635 kilometers.
All-wheel drive versions
The variants with two motors have also become more powerful. The powertrain uses the electric motor on the rear axle as the primary drive source. This engine is supported by the power source on the front axle. The system output is now 310 kW (422 hp) and 740 Nm of torque. Previously it was 300 kW (409 hp) and 660 Nm of torque. This version sprints from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 4.5 seconds. With the optional performance package, output increases to 350 kW (477 hp). The Polestar 2 sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds.

In addition to technical adjustments, the design also shows minor adjustments. For example, the nose has been slightly modified and instead of a checkered radiator grille, there is now a smart zone here.
Starting price of new Polestar 2
The updated Polestar 2 will have a price of at least 51,200 euros. The top model costs more than 66 grand.
