Here they want to ban the sale of electric cars from 2035

In Europe, the sale of new cars with petrol engines will be banned from 2035. But in the US state of Wyoming they want to do it the other way around.

Wyoming has introduced legislation that would ban the sale of electric cars by 2035. So you can guess who is in power in the American state: not the Democrats, but the Republicans.

Protect yourself from electric cars

And the reason for the bill is no secret either. Republicans want to protect the interests of the oil and gas industry against the rise of electric cars.

Bill mainly symbolic

It seems that the law is mainly symbolic. If you delve into the text, you will see that phasing out electric vehicles is “encouraged”. Paragraph 2 of the legal text states that companies and residents are discouraged from buying electric cars.

Wyoming is an oil state

Wyoming is the eighth largest oil producer in the United States, but has the smallest population: just half a million. The law literally states that the oil and gas industry is responsible for thousands of jobs in Wyoming.
