Dive into the price list: the MG4 Electric

Is the new MG4 Electric the new electric bestseller? It just might. With a look at the price list we can see why.

The Volkswagen ID.3 is selling well, but it could only be difficult. MG introduces the MG4 Electric, a car explicitly focused on the ID.3. The MG4 is also a relatively tall hatchback with comparable performance but also… a lower entry price! With a look at the price list, let’s take a look at what the MG4 Electric has to offer for this price.

Prices MG4 electric

To get straight to the point: the MG4 is available from 30,785 euros. That is around 10,000 euros cheaper than the Volkswagen ID3. ‘Entry price’ means that there are also more expensive versions. These are Comfort and Luxury, available from 31,335 and 36,285 euros. That’s still significantly cheaper than the entry-level version of the Volkswagen.

Specifications MG4 Electric

The name MG4 Electric is actually a double, because MG is (in Europe) an all-electric car brand. So there is no non-electricity. By the way, not abroad with the MG4. 125 kW (170 hp) and 250 Nm are available to the rear wheels as standard. Starting with the Comfort version, that’s 150 kW (204) hp with the same torque. The standard 51 kWh battery is therefore immediately replaced by a 64 kWh battery.

Remarkably, the extra power doesn’t make the car any faster. On the other hand. The standard reaches 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds, the more powerful models in 7.9 seconds. Also good by the way. The big advantage of the more powerful versions is the larger battery and the associated range. The standard comes to 350 km, Comfort and Luxury to 450 and 435 km (WLTP).

Equipment MG4 Electr

The MG4 Electric Standard actually leaves little to be desired. Some highlights: 16-inch steel rims with hubcaps, automatic LED lighting front and rear, keyless entry & start, fabric upholstery, 7-inch digital instruments, 10.25-inch infotainment screen, MG Pilot (including traffic jam assistant). The Comfort version complements this with 17-inch steel wheels with hubcaps, a lockable grille for better aerodynamics and privacy glass at the rear.

The Luxury is the model with all the trimmings: heated exterior mirrors, heated steering wheel, heated front seats, power driver’s seat, partial leatherette upholstery, a heat pump in addition to the standard climate control, navigation with real-time traffic information, additional speakers, a wireless smartphone charger, a WLAN -Hotspot and a number of additional driving assistants.

The exterior decoration of these three versions also differs in detail, see the photos below. Your choice of equipment level also determines what you have on board and what you don’t. The individual options are limited to the visual decoration of the exterior and interior.

Decoration MG4 Electric

The MG4 Electric is white as standard. For a surcharge of 650 euros, there is a choice between light blue, orange, black metallic, light metallic or dark gray and red metallic. On the Luxury, the roof comes in contrasting black. The Luxury also offers the only option to brighten up the all-black interior with very light gray parts and an orange accent. This also costs 650 euros extra.
