It’s almost Christmas and that means bringing a Christmas tree indoors – and you probably already have it. If you have a spacious car, you can push it straight to the back. But what if you have a Ford Mustang Shelby GT500? Then you strap it onto the roof and drive 300 kilometers per hour.
The stunt was prepared by Hennessey’s tuners. In addition to building extreme hypercars, the brand also overhauls existing models.

So was this Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 that was doing 192 miles per hour (309 kilometers per hour) with a Christmas tree on the roof. After “The Grinch” stole the Christmas tree, he takes it to the roof as soon as possible. And that works with this example.
1000 hp against a Christmas tree
The Ford Mustang features the Hennessey Venom 1000 package. The Shelby GT500 does not have 760 hp and 850 Nm of torque, but is good for 1000 hp and 1152 Nm of torque. It’s the same 5.2-liter V8 engine.
The significant power increase is due to several supercharger upgrades, upgraded fuel lines and fittings, and an air intake upgrade. Some adjustments were also made to various cooling systems, the gearbox and the exterior.

Although the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 – which has been driving more than 300 km/h with a Christmas tree on the roof – already has insane amounts of power, it can get even crazier. Hennessey also supplies the Venom 1200 package. You then have 1204 hp and 1223 Nm of torque at your disposal. The 5.2-liter V8 is still used for this extreme performance.
Of course, further adjustments are required to achieve this capability. For example, the entire compressor system was renewed. You don’t always have the 1204 hp under your right foot. Only if you fill up with E85 (85 percent ethanol with 15 percent petrol).
