The Hyundai Kona can be described as a popular electric vehicle to say the least – although the Niro is even more popular. Due to its attractive price of 43,795 euros (2022), the choice of a larger battery pack with a range of 484 kilometers and its understated yet sleek design, there was no getting around the Korean as a buyer of a compact electric SUV.
It is precisely this target group that the new Kona must appeal to, after all it remains a compact electric SUV. However, the design is much more distinctive.
Hyundai Kona gets a new design
The continuous front and rear lighting makes it much more futuristic. The renewed grille and the tail light units, which are now part of the fender flares, make the whole thing even tougher. The small third brake light between the spoiler is also very noticeable.

Not only does the car look wider, it is. The new Hyundai Kona is 25 millimeters wider and the wheelbase has grown by 60 millimeters. The length also increases by 15 centimeters. Because the EV has grown, the Kona offers more interior living space. We will know at a later date how much the legroom and/or headroom will increase.
Opportunity maker for the best-selling electric car
While Hyundai doesn’t say anything about the tech, we do know that the Kona has a chance of becoming one of the best-selling electric cars. The brand has announced that there will be an all-electric version.

You can also opt for a hybrid drive and an N Line. Whether there will also be a real Kona N – and whether it can now be ordered in the Netherlands is unclear. All versions are based on the same platform but have their own design features.
