Modellista makes the design of the new Toyota Prius even more interesting

The Toyota Prius was never really a beauty. Until the brand showed the fifth generation. The more beautiful design was upgraded a bit by the in-house tuner Modellista.

Modellista is not known for extreme excesses or special equipment. The tuner often sticks to some lips and details. For really eye-catching tuning, you better turn to Mansory, for example.

But if you want to attract attention, don’t buy a Toyota Prius. Although the optional lamps at the bottom of the bumper immediately show that this is a modelista. The corners of the bumper were lengthened and lamps were added. In order to make the car look lower, large side skirts were chosen under the doors. The Prius also gets large, futuristically designed rims. Inside the rear bumper you’ll find a redesigned lower bumper with decorative pieces that suggest exhaust fumes are leaking out.

Although the optics have been slightly modified, the tuner does not change the technology of the Toyota Prius. In the Netherlands, the model can only be ordered as a plug-in hybrid with a 2.0-liter petrol engine and an electric motor with 160 hp. Together they make 223 hp.

Range Toyota Prius Modellista

It is unclear whether the bumper lips and other plaster affect the range. Although this will not be more than a few kilometers. With its 13.6 kWh battery pack, the regular Prius has an electric range of between 70 and 80 kilometers. With the previous model, the fourth generation, it was only 50 kilometers.

Will a Dutchman install that?

The new Toyota Prius is expected in spring 2023. Would there be a Dutch buyer screwing the parts from the Japanese tuner to his Prius?
