That’s how far you can get in the all-new Opel Mokka Electric

hey stop it Did we make a mistake in the title of this story? No, Opel not only changed the powertrain of its Mokka-e, but also its name. Get to know the Opel Mokka Electric.

Let’s start with a quote from Opel boss Florian Hüttl. “With its improved electric drive, we are making the Opel Mokka Electric even more powerful, efficient and better. This is Opel’s well thought-out ‘Greenovation’.”

Opel Mokka Electric with renewed Stellantis technology

Well, no… Opel is just keeping up with the rest of the Stellantis group. We’ve already seen the upgraded electric powertrain that Hüttl is talking about in the updated DS 3, the upgraded Peugeot 208 and also the Opel Astra Electric.

More power, a bigger battery and more range

Then what are we talking about? The Mokka Electric goes from a 50kWh battery to a 54kWh one. This ensures a 20 percent increase in range, which on paper extends from 338 to 406 kilometers.

There’s also more power under your right foot. The Opel Mokka Electric’s single electric motor now produces 156 hp (in Sport mode only) and that was 136 hp. The driving modes Eco and Normal reduce the power of the powertrain.

No single pedal driving, same fast loading speed

One-pedal driving, where you hardly have to step on the brake, is unfortunately not possible in the Mokka. On the center tunnel you will find a B button with which you can make the recuperation stronger.

The update does not change the loading speed. The Opel is still equipped with an 11 kW on-board charger and achieves a top speed of 100 kW on the fast charger, which means that the battery is 80 percent full again after half an hour.

Top speed Opel Mokka Electric limited to 150 km/h

Are you curious about the other speed, the top speed? So that you don’t run out of battery too quickly on German autobahns, it is limited. At 150 km/h the electric cake is ready. It takes less than 10 seconds to go from zero to 100 km/h.

In 2028, Opel only wants to sell electric cars

Opel now has three all-electric models in its product range: the Corsa, the Mokka and the Astra. In six years, the German brand only wants to sell electric vehicles.
