The special Mazda MX-5 Speedster really goes into production!

As an Autovisie reader and car enthusiast, you’ve probably seen Mazda MX-5 Speedster concepts drive by. This time it is not just a study model. Tuner Xenex really takes the Miata Speedster in series.

In 2020, the company developed a Mazda MX-5 Speedster as a concept model. At that time it was considered “one of so many projects by tuners”. However, it turned out to be a serious test.

Mazda MX-5 Speedster

The Xenex MX-5 Speedster is basically an ordinary first generation (NA) Mazda MX-5. Parts like the windshield are unbolted and sanded from this car. The car is equipped with a body kit.

Three engines

There are three versions / engines to choose from. You can keep the rock-solid 1.6-liter four-cylinder or the 1.8-liter. With the body kit on your car, you can now call your Mazda MX-5 an MX Speedster. Optionally, you can opt for upgrades to suspension, 17-inch wheels and Wilwood brakes. The options are available for all three versions, although the brake upgrade is really necessary on the next two powertrains.

The first Mazda MX-5 Speedster will be on display in March 2023

Xenex has not yet announced prices for the MX-5 Speedster. It’s also not known when you’ll be able to have the kit fitted or when you’ll be able to order it. The tuner reports that the first car will be ready on March 1, 2023. Serious customers can contact Xenex for more information.
