Tesla Model 3 is getting a facelift, you can expect that

Reuters spoke to four anonymous sources reporting on the American automaker’s new vision. “Highland”, as the project is codenamed internally, aims primarily to reduce production costs.

According to the sources, the interior improvements will be implemented in parts that drivers use most often, such as: B. the infotainment screen. In addition to the interior, the exterior of the Tesla Model 3 is also being revised, and it is still unclear exactly what has changed here.

2023 in production

The new Model 3 is scheduled to roll off the assembly line in the third quarter of 2023 and will be produced in China for the first time. The plant in California will follow later, when is still unclear.

Why is Tesla redesigning the Model 3?

But why is Elon Musk’s company giving the Model 3 a facelift? The Tesla Model 3 has been in production since 2017 and has been on the market in Europe since 2019. So far, the design has remained unchanged.

The facelift should not only provide a fresh look again – and thus for new customers. With the reduction in production costs, it has to compete with Asian brands such as BYD, Hyundai, Nio and MG.
